One of the most stunning sights is watching the western sun set over New Zealand's famous snow encrusted high peaks from the serenity of your stable kayak. WOW.

Really great tour! The guide was very friendly and told us all about the surrounding nature. The pictures were nice aswell. But don’t expect to see the sunset (at least in summer), the tour finishes right before.
Beautiful evening- lucky to have great weather - awesome guides - amazing location. Great way to spend a few hours - would love to do this again
My family and I did this Sunset Kayak Cruise for my husband's birthday on 8 January 2023. From the start of the van transfer out to Lake Mapourika we knew this was going to be a fun time. Ariel introduced himself in the tradtional Maori way and asked us all about ourselves. The weather was lovely and warm and the lake was stunning. My husband and I shared a kayak with our 2 older daughters sharing another. The group was a good size and were all very friendly. Our guides Ariel and Jacob were so much fun. Lots of rowing but not too strenuous and we had plenty of down time to talk and get some history about the area and about the Kiwi sanctuary that we paddled up to. We were a little early for the sunset due to the long Summer days but it was absolutely wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this adventure for anyone wanting a wonderful experience whilst in the Franz Josef Glacier area. We even got sent lots of great photos to remember the experience forever.
