Walk high amongst the majestic redwoods trees. Feel the spirit of Rotorua’s iconic Redwood Forest from above and up close to these 120-year-old gentle giants.
This suspended ecological walk provides a unique bird’s eye perspective of the forest, capturing its picturesque beauty and ambience. From 700 metres long, the one of a kind New Zealand treewalk consists of a series of 27 suspension bridges which traverse between 28 majestic 120-year-old Redwood Trees. From 9 metres to 20 metres above the forest at its peak, the walkway has been specifically designed and constructed to preserve the trees, plants and the surrounding natural environment.
The walkway has been uniquely constructed using a New Zealand-first technologically designed sling, which is suspended from the redwood trees. This ecological walk is perfect as a wet weather activity with the stunning colours of the forest coming to life in the rain.
Enjoy at your own pace with no safety harness or training required and appreciate the peacefulness and spirit of this special forest. Leave feeling inspired, refreshed and rejuvenated!..

Could be better
We were very disappointed with the cost to value ratio. We walked at about 3.30 pm on a fine day, It seemed all samey samey looking down and out, with the exception of David Truebridge's light shades. I initially enjoyed the multi choice questions on the seats, then they stopped. We did enjoy the moving 'light bugs' visible on some trees, but only on the right hand side, and only 2 or 3. ( may have missed 1 or 2 before I noticed them). We compared it constantly with the Hokitika tree top walk.

Impressive and tasteful
The redwoods tree walk surpassed expectations. The trees in themselves were impressive and when combined with educational value and eco-sensitive structures, enhanced the overall experience.

Must-do activity in Rotorua!
Lovely walk among the trees, the sculptures give it a poetic charm. In mid-afternoon on a weekday I had the whole place to myself!
